Sunday 20 June is World Refugee Day. In Shimelba refugee camp in northern Ethiopia children and young people will be continuing their lives as refugees and carrying out daily chores. But they'll also be learning and playing - pool, music, board games and, of course, football.

There are around 11,000 refugees in Shimelba, mainly from neighbouring Eritrea. As well as having organised a formal football league for young people, the IRC delivers a variety of services in the camp such as water and sanitation activities, vocational skills training, reproductive healthcare, preschools and primary schools, and youth centres.
