Help keep us on the front line
In a world where 65 million people have been forced to flee their homes, we urgently need philanthropic support to provide rapid, life saving aid and restore hope to communities.
You can make a donation to help us stay flexible and responsive and we’ll direct it wherever it will make the greatest difference at that time. If you're passionate about setting up schools in refugee camps, or keeping women and children safe in combat zones or piloting projects that help communities unite and recover, we can tailor your support. You can also join The Fifty-One, a new group of visionary supporters driving progress in humanitarian aid.
Why support the IRC?
For more than 80 years, we’ve been on the frontlines of the worst humanitarian crises, restoring health, safety, education, livelihoods and economic opportunities to people whose lives have been turned upside down. We help tens of millions of people every year in more than 40 countries. We have the global experience and networks to respond swiftly to emergencies, deliver in-depth, sustainable projects and press governments to pay attention to forgotten crises. With your support, we can make sure the most vulnerable amongst us don’t get left behind.
Everything we do is based on world-class evidence
We believe people in need deserve programmes that are proven to make a significant impact. That’s why we’ve pledged to be the first non-government organisation to make sure all our interventions are either based on world-class evidence or contributing to the creation of that evidence base. As a philanthropic partner of the IRC, you’ll not only be funding work that makes a real, lasting difference to people’s lives, you’ll be helping to improve the effectiveness of the wider humanitarian sector.
We empower people to regain control of their futures
Conflict and disaster can strip away independence. We work to give back control by helping people take an active role in rebuilding their lives and their communities – whether that’s making sure their voices are heard and equally represented, dispersing cash grants so refugees can manage their own resources or working with microfinance institutions so small businesses grow and prosper. You can support us to help people help themselves, and make sure they emerge from crisis with hope and dignity.
How will the IRC work with me?
When you support us with a significant gift, you become a partner in our work. A dedicated team member will keep you updated on breaking news and the impact of your donation every step of the way. We’ll invite you to private events with other like-minded supporters and you’ll have the chance to hear from our organisation’s leaders. We can also take you to visit projects where appropriate, so you can see the results of your support in action, and meet the people whose lives you’re helping to rebuild.
