How you can make a difference

Record numbers of people have been forced to flee their homes because of conflict or disaster. Together, we can make sure they survive, recover and regain hope. Start fundraising for the International Rescue Committee and join supporters across the world who are standing up for communities when their lives have been turned upside down. Your support will make a huge difference: 90p from every £1 you raise goes directly towards our work in the world’s toughest environments.

  • "Contributing to the work of the IRC was for me a very strong motivation. I honestly believe that just actions of support and love can bring some sanity to this madness. We cannot close our eyes, and block our ears."
    Eirini Dimitroula
Eirini Dimitroula ran the Virgin London Marathon and raised almost £1,000 to support people forced from their homes.
  • "Coming into Greece, where so many people are effectively imprisoned awaiting deportation, the lack of the resources is really alarming. The IRC is restoring dignity to people fleeing conflict, and pressuring political leaders to stop letting people fall through the cracks."
    David Edwards
David Edwards cycled 621 miles in 10 days and raised over £3,500 in response to our European Crisis Appeal.
  • "Being fortunate enough to have witnessed and experienced the warm-heartedness of Europe firsthand, I want to do my part. And you can too!"
    Heather Holdaway
Heather Holdaway is currently hiking 1429 miles from Germany to Spain to raise support and awareness against threats faced by women refugees fleeing the Syrian conflict.
