10-year-old Heba has lived her whole life through the decade long conflict in Syria, which has affected every aspect of her life including her access to health care. Three years ago when Heba started to feel pain in her leg, her family had to walk 15 miles to reach a hospital where she was immediately referred for surgery. Thankfully, Heba’s operation went well and she’s now able to walk and play again.

Attacks on hospitals have left Syrian families like Heba’s with limited access to health care. An estimated 70% of the health workforce has left the country, leaving just 1 Syrian doctor for every 10,000 civilians.
